Art in a CD Box Sold Out in Record Time!
The Food & Craft Fair at Strathpeffer Pavilion opened its doors on Wednesday 14th April - and, by lunch-time, tickets for Art in a CD Box were all sold.
Original artwork, to fit in a CD box, was generously donated by 39 of the artists who exhibit at the Pavilion’s now famous annual Art Fair. Tickets for the pictures were on sale at £15 each – every purchaser being guaranteed to receive a work of art, but taking a chance on which artist’s work they received.
With several artists kindly donating more than one piece, 52 works of art were donated. The art was on display in the Pavilion during the Food & Craft Fair and ticket buyers did not find out which work of art they had purchased until the draw was made at 2 pm on Thursday 15th April.
The Friends of the Pavilion very much appreciate the generous support of the participating artists, who are:
| James Newton Adams Shelagh Anderson Esther Armstrong Frances Baxter Mary Black David Body Theresa Brown Arthur Byng Krissie Byng Christine Clouston Jack Clyne Kirstie Cohen Sila Collins-Walden Isabell Dickson Michael Forbes Robert Forsyth Dorothy Francis Willie Fraser Richard Hynds Belinda Johnson |
Bette McArdle Nicola MacDonell Phil MacEachan Ian Mackenzie Margaret MacLennan Elizabeth MacGregor Margaret Martin Fiona Matheson Janis Mennie Ian Nelson John Nicholson Gilyan Noble Christine O'Keeffe Cath Purves Janet Soutar Ben Southern Janet Taylor Marie Thomson Sue Walker |
If you missed the recent exhibition of Kirstie Cohen’s beautiful pictures at the Kilmorack Gallery, near Beauly, don't worry because some of her work, plus work by Michael Forbes and other excellent Highland artists will be on show in Kilmorack's summer exhibition, which opens on 8 May.
